Kim’s directorial debut was the critically acclaimed feature documentary AN ACCIDENTAL STUDIO, which was the first AMC UK original production to premiere on the channel. Fully endorsed by the Harrison Estate, it tells the story of ex-Beatle George Harrison’s production company HandMade Films and their iconic hit films The Life of Brian, Time Bandits, The Long Good Friday, Withnail & I and Mona Lisa. Featuring previously unseen archive + new exclusive interviews with BAFTA winner Michael Palin, Oscar winner Neil Jordan and Oscar nominees Terry Gilliam and Richard E Grant, the documentary was broadcast globally.
Notable producing highlights include THE VETERAN starring Emmy-Award winning Brian Cox and Apple TV’s Toby Kebbell. The film created a bidding war at AFM and was theatrically released by Revolver Entertainment in the UK. EICHMANN, starring award winning Franka Potente and Thomas Kretschmann was the first movie to tell the true story of Nazi SS Officer Adolf Eichmann when he was brought to trial in Israel for war crimes against the Jewish people.
Staying on the theme of war, Kim produced spy thriller JOY DIVISION which was released through Momentum Pictures and Warner Bros and filmed on location in Hungary, Germany and the UK. Heist movie SAVE ANGEL HOPE starring Billy Boyd (Lord of The Rings) and Apple TV star Eva Birthistle was filmed entirely on location in Switzerland, Luxembourg and the Seychelles. Kim was one of the first producers to shoot in Romania (after Miramax’s Cold Mountain) with OUT OF SEASON starring Hollywood legend Dennis Hopper. It was her producing debut.
In between her own films, Kim develops and produces feature films, drama series and documentaries for production companies including archive-based music and true crime. She works with producers, writers and directors to realise their ideas from initial inspiration right through to delivery.
